BCCA - A Guide to the Builder's Lien Act. The information contained in this Guide is intended to introduce and assist members of the construction industry with regard to Builders Lien Legislation in force in British Columbia at the time of printing this Guide.
INTRODUCTION The 1985 book Lien Act is designed to provide contractors and suppliers of materials or equipment with security for payment. The charge created by the statute is a lien against the land (or the mineral rights) in relation to which the materials or services were Size: KB.
Builders Lien definition in layman terms: A builders lien is typically used if you are having difficulty getting paid. When you file a builders lien you are registering a legal interest against the property you have done work on.
